What this question means

Two brackets take almost everything: 0-1.0% at 51% and 1.0-2.0% at 48%. Every other outcome for eurozone annual GDP growth in 2026 — negative, or above 2% — rounds to nothing.

A near-even split between two adjacent ranges is a specific kind of uncertainty. The crowd is confident about the neighbourhood and genuinely torn about which side of a single line the figure lands on. That is very different from a market spread across many outcomes, where the underlying quantity itself is unclear.

It also means the question turns on a boundary. A result of 0.9% and one of 1.1% are economically almost identical and resolve this question in opposite directions, which makes it more a coin flip than the macroeconomics alone would suggest.

Bracket placement matters enormously on questions like this. Had the line been drawn at 1.5% instead of 1.0%, the same underlying forecast would produce a far more confident-looking market.
