What this question means
Four outcomes, and the crowd is genuinely split: Democrats sweep at 50%, a Republican Senate with a Democratic House at 36%, Republicans sweep at 13%, and a Democratic Senate with a Republican House at 2%.
The structure is what makes this readable. Because the options cover every combination of the two chambers, you can extract more than the headline. Combining the paths, a Democratic House appears in outcomes totalling the large majority of the probability, while the Senate is much closer to contested.
That asymmetry is the substance here. The two chambers have different maps, different cycles and different numbers of competitive seats, so they rarely move together — and a question structured this way exposes that in a way two separate questions would not.
The 2% on a Democratic Senate with a Republican House is also informative: the crowd sees that particular split as close to structurally implausible given how the seats line up.
Resolves 3 November.
